April Showers During Board-and-Train

We’re in the middle of spring and though it’s a little bit dry, we’re expecting April showers any day now. One of my board-and-train pooches, Lexi, is into all sports because she is likely mixed with a little bit sporting dog and a little bit hound dog. She loves water and she loves to chase birds as you’ll see in this video. She may not catch them, but that’s all right. It’s the sport that counts.

Not all dogs are into chasing birds. Many board-and-train dogs that I work with are nonchalant about our feather friends. Even my own dogs don’t really give a hoot about them. But they are into squirrel chasing. Whatever a dog is born with genetically, they are, of course, going to want to express those genes one way or the other.

Lexi’s on her way to catch that squirrel. Maybe a little Tree Walker in her mix?

When a dog’s genetic predispositions become problematic such as a bird dog yanking her owner down the street on a leash whenever she sees a bird, then seek help. That’s what I’m here for. Contact me for options on a board-and-train package to create a better behaved pet dog where both of you can be happy.
