Dobermann Swayze Loading Up Into My F-150 Truck

Dobermann Swayze in Truck outsmarting dogs dog trainingI am training a gorgeous and huge rescued and adopted Dobermann, Swayze, for a client. Swayze needs to work in distracting environments, which means I have to get him into my truck for travel. Swayze’s a wonderful passenger. He hangs out in the back seat watching the world go by as I drive us to our destination. The challenge wasn’t the drive over there. The challenge was getting this big boy into my truck before we hit the road.

About a week into our training, my back said, “Please take a break to train Swayze to load up into the truck using his own paw power.” I agreed with my back and took a session to get Swayze comfortable with hoisting his own body into the truck instead of my having to do it. The video below is the before and after of Swayze’s loading-up skills.
