Housetraining and Play Time Puppies and Dogs

When dogs and puppies come to Outsmarting Dogs board-and-train, they get training and if compatible, playtime with my dog. This 5-month-old Labrador wanted to play with my girlie dog for a week. He flirted with her through the barrier in the house and they liked each other. My dog is excellent with other dogs, and puppies need to learn to play nice with adult dogs, so I let them have time together on a very windy Sunday afternoon.

Neto, the Labrador puppy, kissed Emilie, my girl, so much and right on her snout, that it was adorable. He is a very good playmate and with the energy he has, he enjoyed the exercise and time spent with an good communicating adult dog.

In addition to all this play, you will notice how happy the puppy was that he wanted to interrupt Emilie’s relieving herself in the begging of the outing. She’s old enough and well housetrained that she got the job done first. But puppy Labrador Neto is new to housetraining, and he stopped to finish peeing four times! And when I put Emilie inside, he peed again. He was too busy playing to do the job at once. That’s one of the things housetraining entails. Make sure the puppy is empty before going inside, or he will probably pee in the house. But I go over this and much more with my clients who send their puppies for housebreaking and housetraining board-and-trains.
