I offer dog and puppy boarding to my board-and-train graduates and to well-behaved, medium and smaller sized dogs and adolescent puppies. Requirements are:
1. Up-to-date canine vaccinations;
2. Recent fecal report from veterinarian showing negative results for both parasites and giardia. Giardia test must be requested along with parasite test from veterinarian.
3. Your dog must:
a. be friendly to strangers (me) and non-aggressive towards other dogs or puppies.
b. be able to sleep/rest in a crate calmly over night and when left unsupervised in house.
c. be housetrained.
d. be able to walk on a leash.
e. have an unscented bath (no perfume scents on dog) and a nail trim prior to start, recent grooming if dog is of a breed that generally needs “hair cuts.”
f. be on a heartworm/flea/tick preventative. Dog or puppy must be free of fleas and ticks.
g. be in healthy condition.
The above requirements keep everyone’s dog safe for boarding and I strictly abide by them.
Your dog would live in a home environment with me. He/she would get plenty of daily exercise in yard during boarding, socialization time (if dog enjoys company of other dogs), petting and attention. Fed twice daily with food supplied by owner. Text updates available during your dog’s stay.
Dogs under 20 pounds $40/day.
Dogs 21 pounds and over $50/day.
Payment is due at the start of boarding. Hours are generally 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Appointments may be scheduled otherwise.
Please make sure your dog or puppy is wearing a collar that fits/doesn’t fall off your dog. I put a tag with my information on it during the dog’s stay. Owner would provide food, 6′ leash, harness if dog wears it, and if the dog needed heartworm/flea/tick preventative pill during board, pack that with date to be given and I will administer it. If dog is pee-pad potty trained, owner provides pee pads.
Everyone has a quirk or two, and dogs do, too. But as long as your dog is generally well-behaved, more calm than wired, non-aggressive/friendly, house and crate trained, and in good health, she or he would be a fit for the Outsmarting Dogs Boarding Only package.
